This is a picture of our Librarian at the kids' school. She would put this costume on for our reading assemblies last year. The theme last year was something about finding treasure through reading or something like that. Well this year our school has been working on reading 1,855,000 minutes and Monday they announced that the school not only made the goal but surpassed it by 55,000 minutes. Now mind you that it the entire elementary. But the kids were really excited about that. Well this was also the last assemble for the principal since he is leaving at the end of the year. So "Capt. Jack" made an appearance again just for him. Capt. Jack also presented the school with their prize for completing their goal. Each kid get two tickets to the local baseball team game for this summer. By the way "he" arrived in that kayak on the floor carried by the four football players who helped give out four bikes that the kids also had to read for. She actually does a pretty good impersonation of him.
